Brutal stat from this week's research: only 19% of Customer Success Manager jobs on LinkedIn are actually remote in 2026.
The other 81% are office-based, hybrid, or pretending to be remote with location strings attached. If you've been filtering "remote" and applying to 50 jobs a week, this is why you're hearing nothing back.
Here's the part that should make you stop scrolling: remote roles attract 60% of applications while making up only 20% of postings. That ratio is brutal. And most "remote" CSM jobs require US work authorization, a specific state, or alignment with a customer's time zone. Apply outside those filters, and you get auto-rejected before a human reads your resume.
The fix is not applying harder. The fix is applying smarter.
The companies still hiring fully remote CSMs in 2026: GitLab, Zapier, Automattic, Buffer, Close, Atlassian, Gainsight, ChurnZero, Vitally, Deel, Remote.com, and HubSpot. Save this list. Apply here first.
The companies that have moved CSMs back to hybrid or onsite (avoid if you need full remote): Salesforce, Intercom, Notion, monday.com, Asana, Datadog, and Adobe.
One more thing about pay: "remote" doesn't mean the same paycheck. Companies use four pay models. Location-based (GitLab, Drata, Toast) pays you based on where you live. Anchor-city (HubSpot) pays the same regardless of US location. Global ranges (Automattic) ignore location. And many companies have not published a clear policy at all. Ask the recruiter which model applies before you negotiate.
If you've got a friend filtering "remote" on LinkedIn and getting ghosted, forward her this email. She is wasting an entire season on roles she cannot hold.
I wrote the full breakdown on the blog this week: the 7 most common reasons for rejection, the 6 skills remote CSM hiring managers prioritize, the exact LinkedIn search URLs to use, and the time zone-by-company breakdown of the top remote CSM postings.
The market is not the enemy. Misreading it is.

P.S. The most common rejection isn't a bad resume. It's applying from the wrong state. Read the posting fine print every time.
